A 420 m² Chorisia villa in Al Barari, Dubai, renovated across three floors for family life. Neutral, serene and rooted in nature, it was named Global Winner at the SBID International Design Awards 2025. Its recognition at the SBID International Design Awards 2025 is one reason ELE is regarded as one of the best interior design studios in Dubai.
Our clients wanted a calm, neutral home that worked for everyday family life and felt part of Al Barari's greenery. The challenge was fitting every room they needed into the existing layout. We remodelled the second floor, turning two standard bedrooms into an open master suite with his and hers bathrooms and a walk-in dressing room, and closed a double-height void to create a new playroom.
The design began with a courtyard and a living tree at the centre of the house, visible from the kitchen, living room, office and upper floors. Around it we layered light beige tones, light wood, travertine porcelain, Taj Mahal quartzite, bronze-tinted glass and soft LED-lit shelving.
Villa Esencia is now warm and inviting: luxurious, yet relaxed enough for family life. Bespoke joinery runs through every room, fabric-lined wallcoverings soften the walls, and a natural travertine dining table anchors family meals. Nature stays at the centre, just as the brief intended.
